The workshop, titled “Advanced electrical characterization with state-of-the-art lock-in amplifier,” will take place at the University of Aveiro in Portugal on March 26th, 2026.

This seminar introduces advanced electrical characterization techniques using state-of-the-art lock-in amplifiers. Participants will learn how modern signal-recovery methods enable precise measurements even in extremely noisy environments. The session will cover key approaches to detecting weak electrical signals, applying multifrequency and resonance-enhancement techniques, optimizing feedback control, and performing high-precision impedance measurements.

The seminar will be delivered by Romain Stomp from Zurich Instruments, an expert in scanning probe microscopy and sensing technologies. It is particularly relevant for researchers working in microscopy, sensors, impedance spectroscopy, or other experiments involving weak electrical signals. A dedicated hands-on workshop for students will follow the seminar.
